From SJO Airport Via San Ramon*
Drive west on InterAmericana #1 and exit north at San Ramon. Follow Volcano Arenal signs through San Ramon, then drive 37.7 km north through mountainous cloud forest to Bajo Rodriguez. Where the road forks in front of a blue and white police station, turn right (east) toward Cuidad Quesada (#141) and Santa Clara. Drive 5.4 km and cross 2 bridges to Santa Clara. Continue towards Florencia on #141 to a 3-way intersection with #35 -- take the road that vers to the left to be on #35 toward Muelle.
At the flashing light intersection with Highway #4, turn right (east) on #4 towards Aguas Zarcas. Drive 9.4 km, turn right at a Bio Thermales sign onto a country road. Drive 2 km to the village of Corea, turn left at a Bio Thermales sign, drive 2 km to the gate of an old factory. Turn right, drive 0.2 km to Bio Thermales. Travel time: 2 to 3 hours. Daylight hours only.
From SJO airport via Naranjo*
Drive west on InterAmericana #1, exit north at Naranjo (#141). Stay on this road into Cuidad Quesada (San Carlos), to a traffic light with a large Catholic Cathedral on your left. Turn right, drive 10 km to La Marina, past La Marina Zoo, turn left (north) at Bio Thermales sign where the road forks. Stay on this paved road to La Palmera, turn left where the road forks in front of Super Nuevo store. Drive 0.5km, turn right at a Bio Thermales sign.
Drive 2 km to the village of Corea, turn right at the Bio Thermales sign. Drive 2 km to the gate of an old factory. Turn right, drive 0.2 km to Bio Thermales. Travel time: 2 to 3 hours. Daylight hours only.
From Fortuna and Volcano Arenal
Drive east on #142 to El Tanque, turn north and turn right (east) on Highway #4 toward Muelle -- you'll stay on this road all the way to our turnoff, which is 9.4 km from the flashing light Muelle intersection. Turn right at the Bio Thermales sign, drive 2 km to the village of Corea. Turn left at the Bio Thermales sign, drive 2 km to the gate of an old factory. Turn right, drive 0.2 km to Bio Thermales. Travel time: 30-40 minutes.
From Aguas Zarcas
Drive 1.5 km to Los Chiles, turn left at the flashing light toward Muelle & Fortuna. Drive 4.4 km -- past a large Tico Frut factory, a yellow bridge, and turn left at a Bio Thermales sign. Drive 2 km to the village of Corea, turn left at the Bio Thermales sign, drive 2 km to the gate of an old factory. Turn right, drive 0.2 km to Bio Thermales. Travel time: 20 minutes.

Both routes to/from San Jose travel through mountainous cloud forests -- please make this beautiful drive only in daylight hours due to hazardous visibility conditions at night.
